Madison Park Chunky Knit Throw Review
The Madison Park is the best cheap chunky knit blanket we tested. Most budget acrylic throws pill badly by wash 3. This one held up better. It's not as soft as the wool options, but it's a fair pick at $49.

Who it's for
This is the pick if you want the look of a chunky knit blanket without spending more than $50. It's also a good option for homes with kids or pets where rough handling is likely. At $49 it's easy to replace. At $119 for the Estelle & Finn, replacement stings more.
It's also one of the easiest to care for. Cold machine wash, low tumble dry. No special handling needed.
Pill test
After 5 washes: light pilling on 2 loop surfaces. After 10 washes: moderate pilling on several areas. Still functional and soft to the touch, but visibly less clean than at purchase. A fabric shaver removes the pills easily.
This is the expected behavior for acrylic at this price. If pilling bothers you, step up to a wool blend.
Verdict
The Madison Park earns Best Budget. It's the most durable cheap acrylic blanket we found. If you want longer-lasting softness and less pilling, the Puredown or Estelle & Finn are worth the extra money.
